The Day Yahoo Saved My Life

In the battle of Google vs. Yahoo; today, Yahoo wins.
I am a big proponent of Google. In my opinion, there is a Google solution for just about everything, but today, not so.
I have been updating one of my company’s websites. In doing so, I deleted information from pages that had dated information. Later I would be asked to save those ‘old pages’ I had deleted to archives.
Oh no! I have lost them forever! Then I thought, Google caches old pages. I will just look up a particular page that I was asked to archive and find the cache. So I began searching.
To my dismay, Google had stored most of the website’s pages, except the page I needed to archive. What did I do? I ‘googled’ for cached page archives. Lo and behold, Yahoo also caches pages. In my Yahoo ignorance, I never considered Yahoo as a source for cached pages.
I quickly searched for the page in question, and YAHOO!!! There it was. So if any of you IT professionals and public relations practitioners like myself, find that you have deleted web page information when you weren’t supposed to…YAHOO!
